LOCATION

Veterinary Wellness Care is located at 1111 Bay Street in downtown Beaufort, SC alongside a picturesque waterfront City Park --- providing a beautiful environment for our clients and patients alike. Whether you're a resident of the city who enjoys walking to our office or you drive in and park along Craven Street, you will find our facility to be easily accessible and user-friendly.

Plenty of convenient on-street, metered parking is available on Craven Street directly behind our office. Parking is free until 11:00 AM, and costs a nominal twenty-five cents per half hour after 11:00 AM. You may pay with your phone as well as coins --- and we'll be happy to “feed the meter” if you don't have any loose change. Quiet Craven Street is pedestrian and pet friendly and is favored by locals and tourists alike for its serene beauty.

Our facility was built in 1955 by Dr. Herbert Keyserling who along with Dr. Sol Neidich practiced general medicine here for 40 years. Nestled underneath the branches of the surrounding live oak trees and overlooking the Beaufort waterfront, the classic mid-century structure is clad in brick that was salvaged from nearby Charleston when the orphanage there was demolished to make way for a new Sears Roebuck store. IF THESE WALLS COULD TALK!!! We believe Dr. Keyserling, who was an animal lover himself, would be very pleased to know that his office will be serving the needs of Beaufort's pets and their owners for many years to come.

The building was renovated extensively by Paul Webb and Beaufort Construction in 2023 with historical insights and woodworking skills contributed by Paul Keyserling. Every effort was made to retain the original character and charm of the structure while providing some much-needed updates including ADA accessiblity. Of course, our staff is always happy to provide assistance to our clients … to include “curb service” when requested. If you're having difficulty bringing your pet in to the office, just ask and we'll be happy to take care of them while you wait in your vehicle.

For everyone's safety, we require that all dogs must be leashed and under control and that all cats be in a sturdy carrier.
